A Call for Your Help

As you may know, I usually have many, many events listed on Plus Size Events . Now I do not. For some reason, I have had fewer submissions of events lately. I need people to tell me what they are doing. Do you know of any plus size events? I am interested in ALL the plus size events: performances, dances, weekends, seminars, etc.? When you are surfing the Internet and come across an event, please send me the information. Please tell your friends to send information too.

The more events I can list, the more plus size people will know that there is a whole world open to them. If you can help gather information on plus size events and send it to me, I would be so grateful... so will all those people who need to know about these events!

Getting Started Using a Workout Video

Many people leave the video sitting on the shelf until they are ready to workout. That can be a problem. It may cause you to delay getting started ... or never start.

You don't have to DO the workout to get started. I suggest that you fix a nice drink, sit in a comfy chair and WATCH the video first. Yep, just watch before you tell yourself that you are really going to do the exercises. This gives you a chance to see that you really CAN do this workout ... you may even have to set down your drink and boogie!

This is one of MANY emails I get all the time. This is what makes my job a true joy!

Kelly, I just had to write and tell you about my first experience of doing one of your tapes. I have CFIDS, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes, and asthma - plus I'm fat, and dealing with alot of depression and menopausal problems. I bought an assortment of your tapes a while back but hadn't felt brave enough to try them until today. I knew that if I could just get myself moving, it would help me break through the depression and fatigue, but sometimes it's hard to take that first step. So I told myself, "I'm just going to preview this video, sit and watch it and see if it looks like something I can handle." I chose the seated aerobics 1 tape. You guessed it - right away, I was exercising right along (in my recliner, no less) and eventually moved forward to the edge of the chair to do it right. I did the whole tape, and felt GREAT! And I want you to know that I have NEVER felt so RESPECTED and UNDERSTOOD as a fat woman as I have with your video! You are a really wonderful role model, and I kept thinking to myself that if you could radiate health and vitality while carrying extra "softness" (as you so nicely put it), may I could, too! You really made me feel comfortable with varying the intensity of the exercises when I needed to, and when you took off your top to show us the ribcage movement and I saw you bare your belly, I just wanted to reach out and hug you! I'm going to tell everyone on several mailing lists I'm on about your tapes - they (and YOU!) are truly wonderful. (...and please feel free to use anything I've said as a testimonial to help others!)

Thank you for all of your great tips! Ordering and using your videotapes got me motivated to join a gym to use their pool. I weigh about 400 pounds and have problems with mobility. I water walk and the first day I was able to walk for 25 minutes, 50 laps because I had been using your tapes to exercise and motivate myself!! I've gone every day and just love the fact that I am able to exercise for such a long period of time. Before I joined the gym, although I could follow ALL THREE of your tapes in succession, I was able to tolerate only about 5 minutes on the treadmill here at home. It was pure torture! Now I have been able to add water walking to my regime and I'm exercising about 1 hour daily!!! Thank you for making such great, motivational and stress reducing videotapes!! You helped me get back into MOTION!!!
