Get Moving at ANY Size

You Are What You Think!

We all do it.  It hurts.  It is NOT constructive nor productively.  Yet, we all do it.  We say bad things to ourselves about ourselves.  Often people describe themselves in negative terms.  "I'm always late."  "I'm always in debt."  "All I do is eat junk food."

This is a problem because the more you say negative things

about yourself, the more these things become true.

I would like to share a powerful tool for redefining yourself.  After all, what you think of yourself is THE most important factor in who you are now and who you will become.

So, what if it is true that you are often late, in debt, and eating junk food?  It would be silly to deny the facts of your life.   You cannot just start saying "I am on time, out of debt, and eating healthy." just because you wish it were true.  How do you avoid negative statements about the problems in your life? 

You can state the facts of your life in a constructive, positive way. For example, instead of saying "I never get to work on time" you could say:   "I want to get to work on time".  As you take action and begin to solve the problem you could say:  " I ma beginning to get to work on time".  As you progress, you can say:  " I am in the middle of solving the problems so I can get to work on time".  And finally, when you have resolved the problem and it is true, you will be able to say:  " I do usually get to work on time!"

Can you hear it?  Instead of defining yourself in terms of your problems, you begin to define yourself in terms of your PROGRESS.  This can be done with any problem that you have.  Let's look at some of the other examples above:

NOT "I'm always in debt."

But instead: "I want to get out of debt"

as you start improving ...

"I am beginning to reduce my debt"

and continue progress ...

"I am in the middle of solving the problem to reduce my debt"

and succeed!

"I AM out of debt!"

NOT "I eat junk food all the time" 

But instead:  "I want to eat more nutritious foods"

as you start improving ...

"I am beginning to eat more nutritious foods"

and continue progress ...

"I am in the middle of solving the problem so I can eat more nutritious foods"

and succeed!

"I AM eating more nutritious foods!"

Listen to what you say to yourself.  Notice when you are defining yourself by your problems. 

THEN CHANGE YOUR MIND.  Just start by saying "I want ____" (and state what you wish were true.)  That is all you need to remember to start using this tool.  Notice your negative self-definition and state what you WANT to be true.  With that you have begun the process of solving the problem.  Next you will take action toward your goal.  Gradually, you will feel your success.

You are what you think.  So think more about solving your problems. 

Define yourself by your intentions to grow and your progress toward wellness!
